Student Foods

BRAIN FOOD: Research shows that for children to think effectively they need to eat nutritious food throughout the day.  To encourage this at 10am and 12.40pm children are able to eat “brain food” during class time. This should be either fresh fruit or vegetables.

PLAY LUNCH: is eaten at morning recess.  A small snack and drink are required and this needs to be packaged separately from “big lunch”.   Please help your child to identify “which is which” so that they feel confident in making the appropriate choice.

LUNCH: is eaten at lunch time.

Children are supervised for the first ten minutes of each recess and lunch to ensure that they are eating their food. Don’t be alarmed if at times food returns home uneaten - just like us, children have times when they are not hungry.

Food should be contained in a lunch-box clearly labelled with your child’s name. Glass bottles, containers and jars are not allowed for safety reasons.

Cans and bottles of soft drink, foods containing nuts, chewing and bubble gum are not permitted at school.
